In the past few days I've been asked about blogs and what they are.
Well...
A blog is kind of an online diary, updated by bloggers who have a story or some news to share. Other people can then leave comments so the story becomes a two-way street, a conversation. You can share news and views with people all over the world, contributing to their blogs with trackbacks and pingbacks, and build a community of bloggers with like minds and interests.
Publishing on a blog carries quite a lot of responsibility though. Remember that bloggers' work is read all over the world by all sorts of people, so stay safe and be polite. Avoid publishing real names and certainly don't be rude - even if you delete stuff that you regret putting online, it might have already been harvested by somebody else or by the Wayback Machine. So think twice, post once.
